Hi, I’m Lynn Gerber. I’ve lived in Arvada for 26 years, and am a native Coloradan, raised in Boulder. I’ve been married to Billy, my husband, for 24 years. We are a blended family with five grown children, and several grandchildren. As foster parents, we have supported many young women through emancipation, who are also a part of our family.

Our home has always been a place of refuge for people and animals in need. We are involved in our community and passionate about reducing addiction, homelessness, and suicide. We are intimately acquainted with and understand these issues. I was adopted into a family of educators, and went on to pursue a career in education myself, as a purchasing agent for two high-need school districts in Adams County managing a budget of over 27 million dollars.

I oversaw a large volunteer program called Lucky Stars that provided resources to at-risk families. I was named Volunteer of the Year in Adams County several times for this work. In my late 40s I opened a small business in Arvada wholesaling and manufacturing handbags and wares. In collaboration with local non-profits I only hired women recovering from difficult circumstances, who needed a hand up, and not a hand out.

We were in a high end western market for several years at the Denver Merchandise mart, and now only wholesale our products. I am authentic and open, willing to share my experiences, and the things I have overcome to let people know they are not alone. Most of all, I love my family, my animals, and my community.

I am running for Senate District 19 to bring a new voice for change.
